On Wednesday, Feb 17 my class left for Nasu Kogen. This is a nature camp in the mountains.
Once every one got to school, we got on the bus. We watched The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe.
The first thing that happened at camp was we had lunch. After lunch we went on a hike in the snow. Next, there was orientation.
Then we had a snowball fight. When we got inside it was dinner time.
We got to take a bath in an onsen(hot spring). While we were outside in the bath, there were a lot of snowballs thrown back and forth with the girls.
The last thing in the day was a "challenge circuit" in the gym.
This was the first day.
My teacher Mr. Lee woke us up at 6:30 sharp so we had time to get dressed for a 7:00 breakfast.
After every one was done we got free time. I chose to go outside. We built a giant snow fort.
When we were done it was time for a snowshoe hike. it was really fun!
Once we got back I wrote a little in my journal and then we had lunch.
Then came the "snow athletic competition". There were six events. My team, the "cool beans" won two of them.
We got more outdoor free time. We worked on the fort again.
Afterwards I watched Mr. Bean.
Next was dinner.
After dinner we had a campfire and then a bath.
That was the second day.
Mr. Lee woke us up at 6:30 so we could pack and clean before breakfast.
After breakfast we made handkerchiefs.
Step 1: draw desigin with washable ink on a blank handkerchief.
Step 2: wrap rubber bands around the designs.
Step 3: wash the ink off in soapy water.
Step 4: stir them in water in which marigolds have been boiled.
Step 5: repeat step 4
Step 6: rinse them in cold water
Step 7: iron the handkerchiefs
Once we were done we had lunch, then left.
On the bus back we watched Prince Caspian.
This is what we did at camp.
